A full-day sailing charter with skipper

No license or experience needed: Captain Pol sails the boat and lets you join in as much as you like. Hoist a sail, take the helm or simply enjoy the scenery: everyone lives the day at their own pace.

Chartering Fildou means enjoying everything that makes a Madisail day special, without sharing the deck with other guests: your conversations, your laughter, your silences. The crew is there for you only.

Please note: this is a skippered day charter, not a bareboat rental.

Price

How much does a private charter cost?

€1,100 per day (about US$1,240 / CA$1,760), whether you are 2 or 10. The price doesn’t depend on the number of guests. With 10 people, that’s €110 per person, the same price as our shared day trip, with the whole boat to yourselves.

The boat

Private catamaran or trimaran: what’s the difference?

In Martinique, most private charters are on catamarans. Fildou is a racing trimaran, and you feel the difference within the first miles. Her central hull slices through the waves like a monohull, while her two floats, her “wings”, keep her remarkably stable. The result: a fast yet smooth ride, with the unique feeling of flying over the water. And above all, we move with the wind, no engine.

Meet us at 8:45 am at La Case Madisail, on the Case-Pilote waterfront. Morning sail, then anchoring in a sheltered cove for guided snorkeling with Captain Pol, a certified dive instructor. Drinks and a local lunch on board. In the afternoon: swimming, napping, and sailing back around 4:30 pm. Every day, the captain picks the spots based on wind and sea: no two days are alike.

Getting there: we don’t offer hotel pickup, but our partner taxi can drive you to Case-Pilote: Charles Norden – Ti Chal Taxi, +596 696 18 66 05 (WhatsApp). Book directly with him, ideally a few days ahead.

Cruise passengers: make sure your ship’s schedule allows a 4:30 pm return to Case-Pilote.

Can we charter the boat for just 2 people?

Yes. The price is the same from 2 to 10 guests: €1,100 per day.

How far in advance should we book?

As soon as your dates are set: the boat can only be chartered by one group per day, and dates go fast in high season.

Is the snorkeling supervised?

Yes. Madisail is a dive club affiliated with the French Underwater Federation (FFESSM), and all our activities are insured. Snorkeling is guided by Captain Pol, who holds the MF2, the highest instructor level of the FFESSM, as well as the French State diving instructor diploma (Brevet d’État).

What if the weather is bad?

Safety comes first: the captain decides whether the trip can go ahead, based on the marine forecast. If he cancels, we first offer to reschedule; if that’s not possible, you get a full refund. A rain forecast alone isn’t a reason to cancel: in Martinique, showers pass quickly. Only the captain’s decision entitles you to a new date or a refund.

Can I give a private charter as a gift?

Yes, with a gift voucher, available when booking.

Are kids welcome?

Yes, at any age! We’ve set up Fildou to make sailing accessible to all, and Pol adapts to each group. Rocked by the boat, little ones often fall asleep! Any question about your kids? Contact us, we’re happy to talk.
